Hungary’s opposition makes final push to prise voters away from Viktor Orban

Just days before Hungary’s closest election in a decade, opposition flag bearer Peter Marki-Zay is on the campaign trail, trying to convince voters that time is up for Viktor Orban, one of Europe’s longest-serving and most authoritarian leaders.

“We have united, all of us, looking at what connects not what divides us,” Marki-Zay said in the Lake Balaton resort of Siofok, 100km south-west of Budapest. “We will replace this, the most corrupt regime Hungary has known in a millennium.”
