Editor's Note

Susan Wojcicki's decision to quit YouTube will leave the ranks of women in the c-suite of major tech companies even thinner. Silicon Valley layoffs have hit women particularly hard, the Post reports.

YouTube chief executive Susan Wojcicki will step down after nearly a decade at the helm of the Google-owned video site, leaving all of the major social media and entertainment platforms in the management of men.

Wojcicki is one of the most prominent women in Silicon Valley, which for years has struggled to diversify. She has been part of Google since the company's beginnings in 1998. Google acquired YouTube, one of the world's most important entertainment platforms, in 2006.
