  • As the present news cycle continues to be dominated by the Russian invasion in Ukraine, we wanted to give you an update which details the other important topics of the moment.
  • A Europe-bound ship carrying refugees has capsized off the coast of Tunisia - 20 people allegedly died. The UN refugee agency has reported that in 2021, 1,300 migrants drowned or went missing.
  • Millions of children are set to be vaccinated against polio in Africa, after a case was detected in Malawi. This is the first time that the disease has been detected since 1992.
  • The US has formally declared that the Myanmar junta committed genocide against the Rohingyan's through “widespread and systematic” attacks. The Myanmar army have denied these claims.
  • Tokyo has condemned Moscow after The Kremlin pulled out of peace talks which have been ongoing since WWII. Talks were halted following Japanese sanctions on Russia following the Ukraine invasion.
  • Jamaica ‘has already begun’ the process of removing the Queen as head of state. A figure has been appointed in the government, to aid the nation’s transition to a republic.
