  • Sri Lanka has sought an additional $1.5 million credit line from India. The country has been facing economic turmoil for weeks now, with food and fuel prices rocketing and protests breaking out.
  • A third deadly attack has occurred in Tel Aviv in the space of a week. Israeli media reported that 5 people were fatally shot by a 27-year-old Palestinian gunman, who police shot dead at the scene.
  • In Zimbabwe, the opposition won the majority of seats in a by-election over the weekend. The result is thought of as a preview to the 2023 elections, with the opposition party hoping to win power.
  • On Monday, the government of El Salvador announced the arrest of over 1,000 gang suspects, following a wave of 87 killings over the weekend. The government had declared a state of emergency.
