Women’s freedom is under attack with various spiking methods on the rise in the UK.

  • In the 21st century, the safety of women - or more accurately, the lack of that safety - is not a topic that you would necessarily expect to see repeatedly in the headlines. Yet, this is the case.
  • In March 2021, a report from the WHO found 1 in 3, around 736 million women, suffer violence in the present day.
  • Recently, a new surge of spiking cases have been reported in the UK, following the reopening of clubs after the pandemic. Most shockingly, this has included a number of “injection spiking” cases.
  • Many have viewed this as the latest attack on women’s safety and are asking how women are supposed to protect themselves? Particularly when it seems the method of injection spiking is on the rise.
  • When it comes to drink spiking there are a few measures that can be taken, never leave a drink unattended, don’t accept a drink from someone you don’t know and always stick with friends.
  • This being said, a case of spiking is never the victim's fault - this should go without saying. There is a systemic problem within society that crucially must be tackled.
