COP26 Update

Day one of the COP26 talks yielded many promises, and a few tangible agreements.

• Today, we bring you a brief update on a topic from yesterday — the first full day of talks at COP26, one of the most important climate summits of our time.
• The first full day of COP26 talks featured a great deal of soaring rhetoric on the need for action, though it remains to be seen whether world leaders match that rhetoric with sweeping action.
• Leaders however did announce a few important early agreements to cut methane gas emissions and to halt deforestation.
